Early this morning, the Plainville Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Maria Rd. During operations, one of our firefighters sustained a fatal injury. At this time, the firefighters name is being withheld pending family notification. Red Cross is assisting the family of the structure that was displaced. There were no other injuries to both civilians and firefighters. All media inquiries can be directed to the State Police PIO, Kate Coney. Further information will be released as it is available.
