This evening, personnel from our department had the valuable opportunity to take part in a hands-on mock vehicle extrication drill, hosted in collaboration with the Farmington Fire Department and presented by Farmington Motor Sports. The live demonstration built upon a classroom session held several weeks ago, where Farmington Motor Sports introduced emergency responders to the specialized tools, equipment, and support services they can provide during real-world incidents. Tonight’s scenario offered firefighters and EMS teams a realistic training environment to apply that knowledge under simulated emergency conditions. “These types of joint exercises are critical in strengthening our response capabilities,” said a department representative. “They allow us to practice coordination, improve our efficiency on scene, and ensure we’re ready when seconds count.” The mock extrication included the use of hydraulic rescue tools and other specialized equipment to safely remove simulated victims from a heavily damaged vehicle. Exercises like this help ensure that responders are confident and capable when dealing with complex motor vehicle collisions. Our department extends sincere thanks to Farmington Fire Department and Farmington Motor Sports for their commitment to public safety and for facilitating this important training opportunity. Fire Safety Tip: Always wear your seatbelt and ensure children are properly restrained in age-appropriate car seats. Safe driving and vehicle preparedness save lives. |
